At least two soldiers have been killed in a bloody battle at the Nigerian Army’s Garahamojili military camp in Adamawa State by terrorists believed to be members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).

According to information acquired by SaharaReporters, the rebels began the attack on Sunday and engaged the troops in a 20-minute gunfight before overwhelming the post.

Meanwhile, the ISWAP terrorists allegedly carted away weapons and ammunition from the facility before retreating to undisclosed locations.

However, at the time of report, the Nigerian military has not yet released a formal statement about the attack or offered more information on the number of casualties and material losses, though.

In recent months, there have been sporadic attacks in Adamawa, which borders Borno State, the hub of insurgency in Nigeria.
