Jewellery Theft: Mum Begs Patience for Daughter’s Release
A 90-year-old has appealed to former First Lady Patience Jonathan to ensure the release of her daughter Deborah Erema, whom she claims has been detained for some two years and over.
In a video released on Friday by SaharaTV, the frail nonagenarian cried for help, reporting that she was starving and has no one to care for her.
“God bless my daughter. Nobody goes to give me food; nah only her dey give me. I don’t have anybody. I just go beg beg. I am now a beggar. See me as I dey now.
“Please release my daughter, make she go find food for me. Nah she dey give me food. I don beg tire. I don tire. Make una leave my pikin for me. If I die now, who go bury me? Nah only her I get,” she said.
Erema, who was a former aide of the ex-First Lady, has been alleged as one of the aides involved in the disappearance of jewelry said to belong to Jonathan.
These have been reported to be kept in custody for years with the case being postponed repeatedly.

A 90-year-old woman has pleaded with former First Lady Patience Jonathan to help secure the release of her daughter, Deborah Erema, who she says has been held in custody for over five years.
In a video published by SaharaTV on Friday, the frail nonagenarian cried out, saying she was starving and had no one else to care for her.

Erema was one of the former aides of the ex-First Lady alleged to have been involved in the disappearance of certain jewelries alleged to belong to Jonathan.
The aides went ahead to remain in detention for several years, while the case suffered postponements upon postponements.

The cast of characters involved in this case includes Williams Alami, Vincent Olabiyi, Ebuka Cosmos, John Dashe, Tamunokuro Abaku, Emmanuel Aginwa, Deborah Erema, Precious Kingsley, Tamunosiki Achese, Sunday Reginald, Vivian Golden, Emeka Benson, Boma Oba, Salomi Wareboka, and Sahabi Lima.
The accused persons were charged before the Bayelsa State High Court in Yenagoa, the capital of the State, in 2019.
