The Jigawa State Government has urged residents to protect and properly maintain road infrastructure and other developmental projects in their communities, stressing that collective responsibility is key to ensuring sustainable development.

Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State made this appeal on Sunday during the official flag-off of the construction of the Malam Madori–Gari Uku–Kanya Babba–Malam Kasim–Garin Mai Gawo–Kubuna–Sumburtu–Diginsa road project.
According to Namadi, the 34.4-kilometre road project was awarded at a total cost of over ₦18.5 billion and is expected to be completed within 24 months. He noted that the initiative aims to improve connectivity and provide accessible roads for the seven communities along the route.

The state Commissioner of works and transport, Gambo Malam, said the project is among the six regional roads awarded by the present administration to improve the transportation of people and goods in rural areas.
The council chairman, Salisu Sani expressed gratitude to the state government onbehalf of the people of the area for executing a number of projects especially roads infrastructure.
