Jonathan Not in PDP Plans for 2027, Party Declares

PDP has denied claims that it is courting former President Goodluck Jonathan to contest the 2027 presidential election under the PDP.

The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of PDP, Ibrahim Abdullahi, made the classification during an interview with BBC Hausa Nigeria. He stated that the party has not issued its presidential ticket to Goodluck Jonathan.

The party chairman Abdullahi said, ” The PDP has not issued its presidential ticket to former President Goodluck nor have they invited him up to contest the 2027 presidential elections are false. He stated that i had an interview with a journalist who asked for my opinion on Goodluck Jonathan, suggesting if he was to contest for the 2027 election.

In response to his question i explained that he acknowledged Jonathan’s constitutional eligibility to contest for the presidency, as he only rule for one term, so has one more term to rule, but this was not not an indication of PDP plan to involve him in the 2027 elections.
