The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kano State chapter has disclosed its decision to allocate 60% of its leadership positions to former Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso and his loyalists.
The decision was reached during a stakeholders’ meeting where party members deliberated on and decided on the new leadership structure.
Kano ADC Chairman Musa Ungogo, also verified the move.

He stated that Rabiu Kwankwaso’s camp will receive the greater portion, with the remaining 40% going to current party members and other new members.
He clarified that no particular position was set aside for former Deputy Governor Nasiru Gawuna, but pointed out that Gawuna will be accommodated within his group as he is now affiliated with Kwankwaso.
Additionally, Ungogo said the 40% would be distributed among members from different political backgrounds, including those from the Labour Party, PDP, some defectors from the APC, SDP members, and individuals previously not active in politics.

He added, “One thing you can take home is that every group and every member is happy about the sharing formula. And secondly, all the positions that you will get from this congress today would be reached by consensus. There will be nothing to regret.”
He stressed that the party was quickly gaining recognition in Kano, with many new members from various political parties, such as the PDP and the ruling APC.

Meanwhile, Ungogo applauded local and national leaders for the party’s recent expansion in the state and described Kwankwaso’s defection to the ADC as a significant boost.
