Another fire outbreak has reportedly occurred at popular Singer Market in Kano State, damaging shops in the Gidan Glass section of the popular market situated along Ado Bayero Road by Murtala Muhammad Way.
The tragic singer market incident, which started Saturday afternoon, according a to previous report is the second fire outbreak at the market in less than 2 months.
Nasir Maharazu, a dealer, confirmed that the fire started at 4:00 p.m. and was still burning at the time of writing.

“As I speak to you now, I can see the fire burning. The whole two-storey building is under fire. This fire is even worse than the one recorded less than two weeks ago in the market,” he said.
According to witnesses, the fire began in a provision shop, generating chaos in the crowded market and spewing thick black smoke into the sky.
Residents and traders in singer market were observed fighting to save their belongings and stop the fire from encroaching on neighbouring structures.

The fire quickly spread to nearby buildings, according to onlookers, increasing concerns among local merchants and consumers.
Officials of the Kano State Fire Service arrived at the scene with a fire truck, but the initial water supply was reportedly exhausted as they battled to contain the inferno.
Later, a second fire vehicle showed up to support the effort. Aspira Nigeria Limited’s private water tanker also contributed to the firefighting operations.

Sources confirmed that the fire raged for hours after the intervention, and several shopkeepers demanded more water tanks to prevent more damage.
As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire had yet to be ascertained. The fire service authorities said investigations were ongoing to determine what triggered the incident.
