Bandits have launched an attack on Unguwar Daudu community in Dukke Ward of Funtua Local Government Area, Katsina State, leaving two residents injured and at least 20 others abducted.

The incident was reported on Monday by Bakatsine, a conflict and crisis journalist who covers insecurity in Nigeria’s North-West region.
According to the report, the attack occurred on Sunday night.

Bakatsine said the attack comes despite multiple peace deals brokered by local authorities, questioning the real value of the peace deal in Katsina State.
He wrote: “ALERT: Last night, bandits attacked Unguwar Daudu community in Dukke ward, Funtua LGA of Katsina State, injuring two residents and abducting at least 20 others. The attack comes despite multiple peace deals brokered by local authorities.
“What is undermining these agreements, and how can civilian protection be improved?”
