Armed bandits have launched a fresh round of attacks on farmers in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State, leading to the abduction of several residents on Saturday afternoon.
Media correspondent and reporter Oseni Ruffai revealed this in a post on his X handle, expressing concern about the region’s worsening security situation.
This attack comes only a few days after a similar raid in the same Kebbi state community where 25 schoolgirls were abducted and a staff member killed.
This comes in the wake of a surge in banditry attacks across different areas of the nation in just a single week.
Residents are questioning the ongoing escalation of violence despite the state’s security presence, and the fresh assault has provoked outcry on social media.
According to Bakastine, “This afternoon, armed bandits launched another attack on farmers in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, Danko-Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, abducting several farmers. The incident comes less than ten days after a previous raid in the community in which more than 40 people were abducted.”
