Chairman of the Committee, Kehinde Olaide Joseph, announced the oversight exercise during a briefing at the Lateef Jakande Complex, stressing that the review is designed to strengthen governance structures rather than single out individuals.

The Assembly has a constitutional duty to examine the management of public funds, ensuring that government agencies operate efficiently, comply with laws and regulations, and deliver tangible value to the people of Lagos,” Joseph said.

The committee revealed that it plans to summon heads of agencies identified in the Auditor-General’s report to provide clarifications on irregularities and explain steps taken to address concerns.

He stressed that governance outcomes should directly benefit residents of Lagos State.

Joseph affirmed that any breach of financial regulations will be addressed decisively.

He expressed gratitude to Speaker Mudashiru Obasa for his guidance and support, which has empowered the committee to carry out its oversight mandate effectively.
