BREAKING: Nigerian Army Executes Daring Rescue, Frees 27 Abducted Passengers in Benue

    The Nigerian Army has successfully rescued 27 passengers who were abducted by armed men in Amoda community, Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue State.

    The rescue operation was carried out by troops of Operation Whirl Stroke, who launched a coordinated assault on the kidnappers’ hideout, overpowering them and securing the safe release of all victims.

    In a statement, the Nigerian Army revealed that the Benue rescue was part of broader nationwide counter-terrorism and anti-crime efforts. These operations led to the elimination of 15 terrorists, the arrest of 42 suspects, and the rescue of 30 kidnapped individuals across various regions.

    In the North East, troops engaged Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in locations including Dikwa, Gwoza, Bama, Banki, and Gujba, neutralizing 15 insurgents and seizing weapons, grenades, explosives, motorcycles, and communication gear.

    Meanwhile, security forces arrested 15 individuals in Kaduna for drug-related offenses, 25 suspects for oil theft in Bayelsa, and two others in Delta. In the South South region, troops also dismantled illegal crude oil bunkering sites across Imo, Rivers, and Delta states.
