Nigerians Face New Visa Hurdles in Ethiopia, UAE, and Turkey

Nigerians Face New Visa Hurdles in Ethiopia, UAE, and Turkey.

Ethiopia, Turkey, and the UAE have revoked visa-on-arrival and e-visa privileges for Nigerian passport holders. Turkey no longer offers e-visas, and the UAE maintains a ban on Nigerians entering Dubai, despite government efforts to lift it. Ethiopia stopped visa-on-arrival for Nigerians two years ago, requiring visas to be obtained at its embassy. This shift has led to increased travel challenges and frustrations for Nigerians, highlighted by instances such as the denial of visas to former Nigerian diplomats. Additionally, Nigeria’s passport power remains low, providing visa-free access to only 46 countries, reflecting broader mobility and economic challenges for its citizens.
