Popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, has been reported dead.

A Nollywood source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, disclosed this, according to daily post.

The source further disclosed that was rushed to the hospital on Monday. Adding that the actor had been battling kidney cancer

The actor is rumoured to have passed away on Tuesday afternoon after spending hours on life support.

Additionally, fellow colleagues have since reacted to the sad news, further verifying the incident. Other fans and well wishers across social media have seized the opportunity to share emotional tributes.

Meanwhile, Alex Ekubo was rumoured to be suffering from serious health issues in May 2025 after months of social media disappearance

As of the time of filing this report, his family is yet to issue an official statement on his death.

Recall that fans across social media recently expressed concerns for Alex Ekubo following his first public appearance after months of social media silence.

Ekubo has been absent from Instagram since December 30, 2024, sparking speculation about his well-being.

According to findings, he was last spotted at his sister’s wedding ceremony in December of 2025.

Alex Ekubo briefly made headlines after his wedding to Fancy Acholonu was surprisingly called of by his then ex-fiancee.

Although reasons for the failed engagement was not made public, the actor was trolled and heavily criticised over the incident.

He however did not make any attempt to clarify the notion despite the constant social media backlash.

Following his tragic demise, Alex Ekubo was described as a very kind and happy personality who always showed up for others in their low moments.

He passed on at age fourty and was reported to have remained unmarried after the engagement failed.
