Nollywood Actress Tope Osoba’s Burial Postponed Indefinitely- Family

Days after the controversy surrounding her passing, late Nollywood actress Tope Osoba’s burial has been indefinitely postponed by her family.

The decision was shared in a statement posted to the actress’ official Instagram page on Wednesday, with the family citing the need to make additional arrangements and resolve outstanding issues.

According to the family, the postponement follows the candlelight processional and artists’ night held in her honor.

The statement read, “With deep sadness, the family of Tope Osoba wishes to inform friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers that the burial ceremony has been POSTPONED until further notice.”

The family appealed to the public for compassion, asking well-wishers to keep them in their prayers and offer support during this difficult period.

It said, “The family respectfully asks everyone for their understanding, patience, prayers, and continued support during this difficult and sensitive period.”

They assured the public that a new burial date and location will be announced through official family channels once the outstanding issues are resolved.

Additionally, the family expressed gratitude to everyone who attended the candlelight processional and artists’ night, as well as those who have provided ongoing support following Osoba’s passing.

“The new burial date and venue will be communicated officially by the family once the necessary matters have been resolved,” the statement added.

Backstory…

The circumstances surrounding the death of 40-year-old Osoba on August 5 remain unclear. Her passing has drawn intense public scrutiny following conflicting accounts of her final moments and allegations involving her fiancé, Prophet Itunu Onadeko.

Osoba died on Tuesday evening following her battle with  cancer. Her close associate, actor Alesh Ola Sanni, announced the  news on Wednesday morning. He took to Instagram to share his grief and announce the actress’s death.

However, on Tuesday, the Celestial Church of Christ announced that it was covertly looking into the circumstances of her passing.
