Nothing Wrong If Fubara Joins APC — Ijaw President

The President of Ijaw Nation, Benjamin Okaba, has stated that there is nothing wrong if the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, defects from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joins the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the interest of peace.

Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief on Thursday, Okaba stated that “we need to be realistic and understand the nature of Nigerian politics at this point; we no longer have political parties — what we have are platforms to contest elections.”

Recall that in April, The suspended governor Fubara after his suspension, visited President Tinubu while he was on a trip to Paris and the UK.

Following Fubara’s visit to Tinubu in the UK, he tendered an apology to the FCT minister when he visited him with two other PDP governors as revealed by the FCT minister.

After Fubara’s apology followed a series of banter from the FCT minister when he stated that he was not fighting the suspended governor of River state but was rather fighting those who were pressuring the governor and advising him wrongly, adding that the suspended governor is  still like a political son to him.
