The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Niger State Command, has deployed 2,375 personnel across the state to bolster security during the 2026 Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.

The deployment, approved by State Commandant Suberu Siyaka Aniviye, covers the command headquarters, area commands, and divisional offices.
According to a statement from the Public Relations Officer, Abubakar M.R. Muti, personnel will be stationed at strategic locations to maintain order and provide comprehensive security before, during, and after the celebrations.
The command noted that Eid-el-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, typically involves heightened public activity, making enhanced security measures necessary.

Aniviye emphasized that the corps has put in place thorough plans to ensure a peaceful and trouble-free Sallah celebration, reaffirming its mandate to protect lives and critical national assets.
The deployment began on March 18, 2026, with officers conducting patrols and managing crowds across the state.
The NSCDC commandant also commended Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi for strengthening the operational capacity of the corps and acknowledged the support of Umaru Mohammed Bago in enhancing security and development within Niger State.
Residents were urged to remain law-abiding and to cooperate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activity to the nearest NSCDC office.
