Obi praises Governor Alex Otti’s achievements, says he is not desperate to be a president

Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the general election of 2023, has stated that he is only desperate to see Nigeria function and not desperate to become president.

He made this statement on Saturday during a special Anniversary Sabbath service to commemorate two years of Governor Alex Otti’s rule in Abia State, which was held at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Umuahia.

Obi urged the people of Abia to pray for Governor Alex Otti and his Commissioners, saying that it is challenging to govern Nigeria or the States, particularly when you wish to act morally.

“When I say to people I am not desperate to be a President, I am desperate to see Nigeria work.

“We are just trustees, like it is happening in Abia, we want it to happen everywhere in Nigeria”, Obi said.

He asked the people to pray for Nigeria’s leaders so they would not waste the nation’s funds but rather use them wisely for the benefit of everybody.

The former Labour Party presidential candidate commended governor Alex Otti for his accomplishments in just two years in government, saying the governor has improved Abia governance.

“We have come to celebrate two years with a difference. People have always said that they need eight years, they need ten years, they need twenty years. But, I have always said that one day can make a difference,” he added.

Otti thanked Obi for always supporting his government and also thanked the legislature, the courts, and church members for their persistent prayers for him.
