The affected facilities include Crystal Palace Hotel located in Adigbe, Maa’bey Bakery—a confectionery and bakery outlet in Laderin—and a livestock farm situated in Soyoye, all within Abeokuta.
Speaking on Thursday, the Acting Chairman of the Ministry’s Taskforce, Tolu Poviwhede, stated that the premises were sealed during an enforcement operation due to persistent non-compliance with fundamental environmental standards, despite prior notices and warnings.
According to Poviwhede, the inspection carried out by the taskforce uncovered serious lapses, including; poor sanitation practices, noise pollution, improper waste disposal and non-compliance with prescribed environmental safety measures.

“The era of doing business at the expense of the environment is over, we will continue to take decisive action where infractions are found,’’ he added.
Meanwhile, residents in Ogun of Adigbe and Laderin, commended the enforcement drive, describing it as a timely intervention at addressing environmental public health concerns in their communities.
The acting chairman urged business owners to take responsibility by adhering strictly to environmental regulations, noting that compliance remained the surest way to avoid disruption and penalties.
