Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has publicly acknowledged that there were conversations and attempts to remove Senate President Godswill Akpabio from office.
In an interview with reporters at the National Assembly, the former governor of Abia claims that the conspiracy was more than just conjecture, pointing out that some members of the Senate investigated the possibility even if it never came to pass.

Orji Uzor Kalu dismissed the conflict as a “family misunderstanding” in response to reports of Senate President Godswill Akpabio’s attempted impeachment.
“There were attempts, but we didn’t allow that to happen,” he said. “We are one big family, and it’s not going to happen.”
“If it’s a lie, then the answer is that it’s not a lie because he said the truth,” Kalu said.

Speaking on Trump’s threat, he added that “Nigerians are being killed whether they are Christians or Muslims. There are jihadists who just want to destroy Nigeria. We should blacklist them without pity so that they will be smoked out.”
The senator disclosed that he had personally addressed Nigeria’s security situation with six current U.S. senators and two past U.S. presidents, one Republican and one Democrat, who all expressed willingness to support Nigeria in its battle against terrorism.

Orji Uzor Kalu dismissed insinuations that the U.S. was targeting President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying Washington’s focus was on extremist networks destabilising Nigeria.
