A 30-year-old Nigerian lady identified as Cynthia Chizoba Chigozie died tragically in the Lekki area of Lagos State after an overhead water tank from scaffolding dropped straight into her chamber, leaving many in shock and grief.
Chukwuebuka Nathaniel Kanayochukwu, the deceased’s brother, revealed the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing his sadness and raising awareness about the safety of nearby buildings.
According to reports, the overhead tank abruptly collapsed while the woman was sleeping in her bed, bursting through the ceiling falling directly on her.
An X user also took to his account to share the tragic incident. He said “30 years old Cynthia Oguzie has lost her l!fe after a water tank c0llapsed into her room in Lekki, Lagos State💔. The overhead tank crashed through the ceiling of her apartment while she was in bed. Her brother said the landlord who lives outside Nigeria claimed that the house was built based on the images and videos that were sent to him by the engineer that handled the building project. Angry relatives and friends are calling for the arrest of the landlord”
Chukwuebuka, the brother of the deceased while sharing images and videos of the incident, revealing that the house’s landlord blamed the tank’s installation engineer for a poor job rather than accepting responsibility for the incident.
He wrote, “Please be cautious of the water tanks in Lekki buildings. This is how my sister was tragically taken from us.”
“Thank you to the landlord and the engineer responsible for this unsafe water tank design. The landlord claimed he’s not in Nigeria, and the engineer is the one who oversees the construction and sends pictures and videos. This is how the story ended.”
The brother of the deceased also shared information regarding funeral arrangements.
