On Monday evening, a plane went down in the Caribbean waters off the cost of Honduras, minutes after taking off from Roatan Island, claiming seven lives and leaving 10 others survivors rescued from the debris injured.
The Caribbean ministry of transport confirming the tragic crash, stated that the aircraft which was operated by Honduras airline , Lansha had onboard 14 passengers and three crew members.

The ministry also stated that the remains of the wreck was found around 1kilomitre off the coast of the island which is an estimated 0.6 miles.
Following this, the flight manifest provided by local media revealed that among the passengers onboard was a US national, a French national and two minors. Reports showed that the flight had been scheduled to fly to the La Ceiba airport on the Honduras mainland.
A Roatan fire captain identified as Franklin Borjas verified the number of fatality while police officers and fire men disclosed that rescue efforts were in progress.
Fire officials who spoke to reporters revealed that on board the Honduras plane was popular Garifuna musician Aurelio Martinez Suazo who had also been confirmed as part of the passengers who died.

In a video released by the national police, officers were recorded in a rescue attempt carrying injured survivors onto the rocky Honduras coastline as a boat shone some light to aid them see in the cloud of darkness.
The Roatan island which is the largest of the Bay islands is a renowned tourism site known for its vibrant coral reefs, colours, clear ocean view and attraction of tourists every year.
