Prominent chieftains and leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Oyo State have visited Chief Saheed Oladele, a gubernatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The meeting, which took place in Ibadan on Tuesday, comes ahead of the 2027 general elections and was attended by 26 local government chairmen and members of the party’s state executive.
Sources revealed that Alhaji Ibrahim Durojaiye, a key figure representing 10 local government areas in the Oke Ogun geopolitical zone, was also present at the gathering.
Speaking at the meeting, the SDP State Chairman, Hon. Michael Okunlola, expressed confidence in Oladele’s ability to emerge as the next governor of the state.
Although full details of the meeting remain unclear as of Wednesday, it is understood that both SDP leaders and Oladele are in the process of finalising arrangements for his possible defection to the party.
