Peter Obi pays visit to Niger flood victims, donates N20m

    Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has given N20 million to the victims of the flooding tragedy in Niger State’s Mokwa Local Government Area.

    During a visit to the state on Monday, Peter Obi made the donation and pledged to personally meet with and visit the victims’ families.

    The philanthropist, who was welcomed by Deputy Governor Yakubu Garba at the Niger State administration House in Minna, sent condolences to the state’s administration and citizens for the loss.

    The massive flood that devastated the Mokwa settlements last week has left 153 people confirmed dead and over 100 others missing.

    The former governor of Nambra State “prayed for the victims’ souls to rest and for God to give the impacted families the strength to endure the irreversible loss.”

    The former governor of Anambra state was commended by the deputy governor who welcomed Peter Obi for helping the distraught flood victims in Mokwa.
