Nigerian Police summon officers in viral video for extorting passengers.
Nigeria Police Force has identified and summoned officers captured in a viral video extorting road users.
In the video, they demanded the five thousand naira from each motorist who said they were returning from a burial.
One of them collected the money from each of them, claiming that the five thousand naira was for five liters of fuel.
Reacting, the Force Public Relations Officer Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a post on Facebook that the officers have been summoned to the force headquarters for necessary action.
He wrote, “This action is totally condemned. They have been identified and summoned to the force headquarters for necessary action.
“We will not condone any act of indiscipline and unprofessionalism. We will update the public on our decisions as soon as possible. Thanks”.
