ABUJA — Nearly a year after their inauguration, 24 out of 109 senators have not sponsored any bills in the National Assembly. In contrast, 85 senators have sponsored at least one bill.
Overview of the 10th Senate’s Legislative Activity The 10th Senate, inaugurated on June 13, 2023, has seen the introduction of 279 bills between July 13, 2023, and March 2024. Lawmaking is a primary function of legislators, and the lack of bill sponsorship by these 24 senators has drawn attention.
