The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Kebbi State Chapter has promised to discipline members who are reportedly trying to disrupt the party’s next congresses, which are set for September 20 and 27.
Speaking to reporters in Birnin Kebbi on Friday, Mr. Nura Bello, the party’s legal adviser for the state, made this commitment.
“Our party at the national level has already constituted a Disciplinary Committee to deal with any member found engaging in anti-party activities or sabotaging the congresses,” he stated.
He also considered the worries regarding a court decision that was making the rounds on social media on September 18 and that purportedly ordered the suspension of congresses in the states of Kano and Kebbi.
He claimed that the party quickly hired legal counsel to request the order’s vacation, which was approved.
Bello bemoaned the fact that the plaintiffs who filed the lawsuit were state PDP members, pointing out that rather than being elevated, such jurisdictional issues ought to have been resolved at the state High Court.
