Ahead of the 2027 election, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has maintained that the PDP cannot offer its presidential ticket to the North.
This was said by Wike in a Monday media chat. His remarks seemed to be aimed at Atiku Abubakar, the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election.
Wike said: “PDP cannot give the presidential ticket to the North (in 2027).
“Selfishness can kill a system.
“For example, if Mr President runs and wins in 2027, by 2031 APC will send their presidential ticket to the North.
“PDP will do what then? You will come back then and say since APC is sending it to the North, we should follow them and give it to the North?”

This is coming after the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike reacted to comments by the suspended Governor of Rivers State, Sim Fubara saying he’s not willing to return to office since his spirit has left.
Wike questioned whether Fubara’s spirit had truly departed, given that politicians can say anything to win over the public.
The minister said he is available for peace during his monthly press briefing in Abuja on Monday.
