Co-convener of the defunct BringBackOurGirls movement, Aisha Yesufu, has warned the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition against allowing only the older generation to dominate decision-making processes.
Aisha Yesufu urged the coalition to ensure that women and youths are actively included in shaping the direction of the party.
She gave the advice while sharing a photo from the coalition’s meeting held the previous day.
Aisha Yesufu emphasized the need to include women and youth in shaping the party’s direction, advocating for broader representation and inclusivity.
She issued the warning while sharing a photo from the coalition’s meeting held yesterday, which showed the high table occupied by prominent Nigerians all from the older generation.
At the meeting, the coalition officially adopted ADC as its political platform. Former Senate President David Mark was also announced as the party’s Interim National Chairman.
However, Aisha Yesufu wrote: “Dear Coalition (ADC)
“Women leader and Youth leader positions cannot be what is reserved for women and youth.
“You see this table full of older generation men, cannot be the only ones allowed to make the decision as we go on! Women and Youth must be in the midst of decision-making and not as afterthought in the form of tokenism
“Dear Women and Youth
“This is the time for the numbers you have to be heard loud and clear.
