Justice Binta Nyako bars Akpabio and Natasha from granting media interviews while the ongoing legal battle is still on.
Following the recent legal battle between the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and Natasha Akpoti Uduaghan, a Federal High Court in Abuja has banned both parties from granting any further interviews or media appearances relating to the ongoing case.
The ruling was delivered by Justice Binta Nyako, following the complaints against Natasha by Akpabio’s lawyer, Kehinde Ogunwumiju (SAN).
Ogunwumiju presented to the court that Natasha has been moving from one interview show to the other to present her case and sway emotional sympathy while the case is ongoing.
The ruling by Justice Binta Nyako also involves banning the live streaming of the proceedings on social media by both Akpabio and Natasha or affiliates connected to them.
Justice Binta Nyako will be the third judge handling this case after the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, reassigned the suit to her.
Before then, the first judge handling the case, Justice Obiora Egwuatu, withdrew from the case after allegations by Senator Akpabio of him being biased were made against him.
NaijaEyes also recalls that the electoral ruling body, INEC, also announced that suspended senator Natasha’s recall process has been rejected.
