Violent altercations during the All Progressives Congress (APC) council primaries in the Bwari Area Council in Abuja are thought to have resulted in one fatality.
The incident happened on Wednesday amid growing tensions over alleged irregularities in the delegate list used for the election.
A video obtained by SaharaReporters showed a body being hastily placed into a black car.
According to a party insider, Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman, submitted a contentious list of delegates for the primary election for the Bwari Area Council.
A source claimed that the list purportedly created by the chairman of the APC Local Council was unanimously rejected by candidates and legitimate delegates.
According to reports, the controversy intensified after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) supposedly approved the contested list that the APC leadership had handed them.

In a video obtained, the chairman of the APC council said that some party members had been compromised after reportedly gathering funds to sabotage the primaries.
During the contentious discussion, he asked everyone to examine their consciences and cease planting seeds of discord for financial benefit.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, when contacted stated that he was currently not in Abuja.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, when reached stated that she “will call to confirm as I am out of town at the moment, but let me confirm and get back to you”.
