2027: APC South-South governors endorse Tinubu for 2nd term
President Bola Tinubu has received the support of South-South governors and All Progressive Congress(APC) leaders for a second term in office.

The APC’s stakeholders meeting, which took place over the weekend in Benin City, Edo State, revealed the position.

According to a statement made by Fred Itua, the chief press secretary to the governor of Edo State, notable individuals praised the president’s leadership abilities and backed him in his efforts to carry out his Renewed Hope Agenda in 2027.

This, they believed, would help him to solidify his developmental strides and put the country on the path of continuous growth.

Among the notable speakers at the occasion were Senator Adams Oshiomhole, who represented the Edo North Senatorial District, Minister of Regional Development Abubakar Momoh, and Monday Okpebholo, the governor of Edo State; Bassey Otu, the governor of Cross River State, who spoke on behalf of the APC governors in the area.

Timipre Sylva, the former governor of Bayelsa State; Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission; Dennis Idahosa, the deputy governor of Edo State; Blessing Agbebaku, the speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly; Umar Ikhilor, the secretary to the Edo State government; Mary Alile, the APC National Woman Leader; Jarret Tenebe, the APC chairman of Edo State; and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the leader of Edo South, were also present.

As major accomplishments of the current government, they cited a number of ongoing reforms in the nation, such as the student loan program and the exemption of low-income people from paying taxes.

Okpebholo thanked his fellow governors, highlighting the extraordinary solidarity demonstrated during their meeting in Benin City.

He added, “This is the first time we are seeing unity among the governors coming together in a single room to discuss the progress of this country.”

The governor reaffirmed his previous pledge to deliver 2.5 million votes for Tinubu in Edo State in 2027.

He further cited the ongoing road work in Uhunmwonde that connects eight settlements, including the eight-year-old route that leads to the village of the immediate past governor, Godwin Obaseki.

He reaffirmed his unwavering support for Tinubu, pointing to the President’s “big heart” and love for Nigeria as demonstrated by the numerous economic reforms and ongoing road construction projects throughout the nation.
