Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Bala Mohammed, has explained the reason behind the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) defeat in the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Bauchi governor revealed that the party’s loss was due to its failure to zone the presidential ticket to the southern region of the country.
Bauchi Governor noted that the decision not to adhere to the zoning arrangement significantly impacted the party’s chances at the polls.

“Life is always a learning process. When we did it in 2023, it was not a pleasant experience, and that was why we lost,” he said.
Recalls that PDP, during its National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting, zoned its presidential ticket to southern Nigeria ahead of the forthcoming 2027 elections.
