Chief of Defence Staff made this revelation during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.

Chief of Defence Staff also disclosed that Nigeria is collaborating with Sahel region countries to address the security challenges.

Chief of Defence Staff: “We have a long list of terror financiers but I don’t know them but I can tell you that the Attorney General is working on it and prosecution has started. I’m sure you know that those that did the Owo bombing are already facing prosecution.

“Since Libya fell, disaster started and now Sudan is in turmoil, Sahel is now open. They have markets that when you go you can buy any kind of weapon you want ungoverned.

“Everybody flows through and you understand that Niger is there, Mali, Burkina Faso and Mali are having these issues with the Sahel Territory.

“Everybody’s interest is to come to Nigeria because they feel that Nigeria is rich, large, and they can come in to do a lot of things in Nigeria.

“One issue is that of Nigerians opening their doors because we have a large heart. Again we have to think of security. Sometimes, these guys come in and we say these are our brothers and sisters but they don’t mean us good.

“Lakurawa, when they came in, that was the issue; Boko Haram, when they started, that was the issue. We allowed them to fester until they become monsters and start eating us up, then we start complaining.

“We should never allow any foreigner an inch into our land for any reason.”
