In a series of tweets, Obi expressed his deep sorrow and anger over the attack, which resulted in the death of five soldiers. He emphasized that such acts of violence highlight the growing insecurity and violence in Nigeria, which must be addressed with immediate and decisive action rather than mere words.
Obi conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers, acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice for the nation. He also extended his sympathy to Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, and the residents of the state.
He criticized the nation’s failure to protect its citizens and security personnel, calling it a dereliction of duty and a sign of the Nigerian state’s deficiencies. Obi demanded a thorough investigation into the attack to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. He urged the nation not to stand by as violence and fear threaten to tear it apart and reiterated his commitment to pushing for a safer future for all Nigerians.

More directly, my condolences to the families of the fallen heroes, who have paid the ultimate price in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and we owe it to them to demand accountability and justice.
