The Federal Government has revealed that it is making a concerted effort to bring peace back to areas impacted by insurgency and sectarian conflicts, according to Defence Minister Muhammad Badaru.
This was stated by Badaru during a two-day working visit to the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), and the Command Engineering Depot in Rigachikun, Kaduna. which started on Tuesday.

The defence minister declared that both kinetic and non-kinetic measures had been implemented in Birnin Gwari and that things were now back to normal.
“Markets are opening, and traffic is flowing freely,” Badaru revealed.
He further revealed that the government was making every effort to resolve the problems, while acknowledging that minor attacks were still occurring in some states.
The minister stressed the necessity of a non-kinetic strategy to placate the parties concerned and stop additional attacks in Benue, where communal conflicts between farmers and herders were a significant worry.

Additionally, he noted that the military was striving to tackle the threat adding that the revival of Boko Haram in the North-East, especially in Borno, required a strong response.
He said, “The troops are doing wonderfully well and would continue to do so with the special grace of God and the public’s prayers.”
According to the defence minister, the institutions were doing a very good job” in carrying out the president’s instructions to conduct deep research and achieve self-sufficiency in military requirements.

Badaru also expressed gratitude for the institutions’ newly constructed Buffalo MRAP and other equipment.
In reference to military officer training, Badaru underlined the Nigerian Defence Academy’s (NDA) pivotal role in generating highly dedicated officers.
The defence minister also reiterated the Federal Government’s dedication to helping the NDA and making sure it had the tools it needed to produce capable officers.
He praised the Federal Government for improving the academy’s infrastructure and supplying the required funds.
