The Rivers State House of Assembly has directed the Department of State Services to investigate the Chief Judge of the State, Justice Simeon Amadi, for alleged falsification of age.
This development happened during a plenary session on Thursday, following the presentation of certain documents to the Assembly by the House leader, Hon Major Jack.
The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Dumle Maol, subsequently raised an allegation against Justice Amadi, citing the documents presented.

He stated, “These documents before me simply say that the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Simeon Amadi, falsified his age in service. Mr. Speaker, that is a very serious allegation, and I do hope that this House takes legislative notice.”
After considering the allegation, the House members debated over the matter and ultimately agreed to request that the Department of State Service (DSS) investigate the age falsification allegation against Justice Amadi.
It was resolved that the house would send an official letter to the DSS
Speaker Martin Amaewhule emphasized the need for an investigation, citing documents that suggest age falsification by the Chief Judge.

He stated, “The documents are only suggesting a case of age falsification by the honourable Chief Judge of the state, Simeon Amadi. What it means is that there has to be an investigation to that effect.”
Following a voice vote, the House ultimately agreed to petition the DSS to investigate the allegations against the Chief Judge.
