According to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, is still his political son.
In a Saturday afternoon interview with BBC Pidgin, Wike made the claim.

The minister asserted that individuals who were pressuring the governor against Fubara were the ones engaged in combat, not Sim himself.
He said, “That one is not a battle. He (Fubara) is my boy, he is my son, why will I fight with him?
“I’m only fighting against people who want to steal what they did not work for.
“When you don’t defeat them, they will think you….. Defeat them to the final stage.
“Now, they are ashamed because they are being defeated. They are the ones pushing Fubara.”
Recall that the ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State has been fuelled by the face-off between Wike and Fubara since 2023.

Sim, who was suspended by President Bola Tinubu after Rivers State declared a state of emergency, reportedly apologized to his former employer.
Meanwhile, in sperate events, the FCT minister, Nyseom Wike has pledged his loyalty to President Tinubu. He revealed his intentions to work for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections while still a member of the PDP
