Indigenes Advocate for Lagos Ministerial Position.

Following reports of a potential cabinet reshuffle by President Bola Tinubu, De Renaissance Patriots, a group led by Prince Adelani Adeniji-Adele, has called for the appointment of a Lagos State indigene to the Federal Executive Council (FEC). In a statement released on Friday, Adeniji-Adele emphasized that such an appointment would improve relations with the state’s indigenes and address feelings of alienation.

The group highlighted the significance of appointing an indigene from the IBILE division to a full ministerial portfolio rather than a junior ministerial position. They believe this step would acknowledge Lagos State’s contributions and ensure its interests are adequately represented at the federal level. The statement also extended congratulations to President Tinubu on the recent Democracy Day celebrations and expressed hope for the energy and wisdom to make decisions beneficial to Lagos State.
