Nollywood actress, Jemima Osunde has lamented over the new trend in the Nollywood industry. The actress raised concerns over the growing demands placed on actors to have a robust social media presence, claiming that it is now linked to their prospects of landing a movie role.
In a recent chat session with the rattle room, Jemima Osunde bemoaned the way the industry has changed to demand that actors produce internet content in order to market their roles.

“Sometimes, I feel like some actors need to just smash stuff and let it out. Now they’re forcing actors to be social media content creators. It’s now like, ‘You see that dance? You must dance on the internet.’ Why?” she asked.
She added, “It’s like they’re forcing everyone so if you’re not an actor with a social media presence, you’re not going to be cast because you need to sell the film. That shouldn’t be my job! Like, how many times do you see Keanu Reeves when he’s not on your screen as an actor?’
