The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has launched an investigation into the reported attack on Jude Ezenwafor, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the upcoming Anambra State election.
Jude Ezenwafor reportedly survived an assassination attempt in Abuja on Friday night after he was shot by gunmen suspected to be assassins.
He was later taken to a private hospital in the nation’s capital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Reports of the Anambra PDP candidate’s condition had emerged online on Sunday.
However, it was reported that Ezenwafor is currently battling for life.
When contacted, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh said that the command had launched an investigation into the incident.
She, however, said the “true position and situation surrounding the incident” cannot be ascertained at the moment.
