The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State is set to hold a crucial meeting on Sunday, July 13, as internal leadership disputes continue to threaten party unity.
The meeting will be presided over by Ambassador Abdul Rahman M. Salga Mainasara, the NEC chairman and a former House of Representatives candidate in the 2023 general elections.
In a recent interview with a local news outlet, Mainasara voiced deep concerns over the current state of the party, stressing the urgency of restoring cohesion and resolving ongoing factional disagreements.
The outcome of Sunday’s meeting may prove pivotal in determining the PDP’s future direction in Kano State ahead of upcoming political developments.
He alleged that investigations have uncovered that certain PDP leaders in Kano are secretly collaborating with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, who is believed to be working in alliance with the ruling APC.
