The Kastina Govt has declared Monday, July 14, a public holiday in honor of the late Muhammadu Buhari, a distinguished son of the state.
The announcement was made on Sunday night by the Secretary to the State, Kastina Govt, Abdullahi Garba Faskari.
According to the Kastina govt, the holiday is intended to allow workers and residents to mourn and offer prayers for the late leader.

It was reported that Buhari died on Sunday in London after a brief battle with an undisclosed ailment.
As directed by President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima has left Abuja for London to accompany the remains of the former president back to Nigeria.
His body is expected to be laid to rest in Daura today according to Islamic rites.
