Kwara Govt announces partial closure of Muritala Mohammed Way.

The Kwara State Government has announced a partial closure along the Post Office to Challenge section of Muritala Mohammed Way, beginning Sunday, June 15, 2025.
The closure is part of an ongoing infrastructure improvement initiative aimed at upgrading critical road networks within the state.
In a statement issued by Olajide Abolarin, Press Secretary to the Ministry of Works, the Hon. Commissioner for Works, Engr. Abdulquawiy Olododo, confirmed that while the road will remain accessible, temporary traffic diversions will be put in place to facilitate construction activities.
Motorists have been advised to expect possible delays and to exercise caution when navigating the affected area.
The public is urged to comply with traffic management directives and signage provided by officials on site.
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank the public for their understanding. This project is vital to boosting the road’s economic utility and enhancing connectivity, in line with Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s urban renewal vision. We’re committed to completing it swiftly and efficiently,” Engr. Olododo stated.
The Kwara government also assured residents that all necessary measures have been taken to minimize disruption, prioritizing public safety throughout the duration of the work.
Road users are encouraged to plan alternative routes and remain attentive to updates during the project period.
