Light House Club, situated along Admiralty Way in Lekki, has been closed by a combined task force made up of representatives from the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps and the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency( LASEPA), due to violations of environmental standards.

Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources Mr. Tokunbo Wahab announced the enforcement action, which was executed on Monday, in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

He disclosed that the club was closed as a result of ongoing noise pollution and repeated disobedience to warnings from the authorities.

Wahab claimed that after previous warnings were ignored, regulatory bodies stepped in to address the facility’s violation of Lagos State’s environmental rules regarding noise levels.

He stated that until Light House Club’s management completely conforms with the necessary environmental requirements, the closure would be in effect.

“This includes installing appropriate soundproofing systems and undergoing verification by LASEPA to confirm that noise emissions fall within the approved limits,” Wahab explained.

Additionally, he underlined that the state government will not put up with entertainment venues that disregard environmental standards.

“Our environmental laws are not negotiable. The right of Lagos residents to enjoy peace and quiet in their communities will always take priority over commercial interests,” Wahab asserted.
