N21bn VP Residence Unveiled by President Tinubu.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has inaugurated the new official residence of the Vice President of Nigeria, a N21 billion state-of-the-art structure completed after 14 years. The project, which faced numerous delays and was abandoned by previous administrations, signifies Tinubu’s commitment to overcoming obstacles and fulfilling promises. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the commissioning, Tinubu emphasized the administration’s dedication to accountability, transparency, and efficient resource utilization.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike noted the project’s cost escalation from N7 billion to N21 billion and praised Tinubu for directing its completion within a year, transforming the previously neglected site. The project’s completion aligns with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to finish inherited projects to prevent waste and ensure public benefit.
Key points from the inauguration include:
- The project’s initial award in 2010 and subsequent abandonment in 2015.
- The administration’s resolve to address and complete long-delayed projects.
- A focus on providing a secure and comfortable environment for the Vice President.
- Tinubu’s commendation for ensuring the Vice President’s dignified treatment.
This event underscores the administration’s proactive approach in delivering on its commitments and enhancing governance standards in Nigeria.
