Ezenekwe stated that in spite of the prolonged duration of his detention, Nnamdi  Kanu seemed to be in good physical and mental health.

He reaffirmed Nnamdi Kanu’s confidence in his legal team further stating the IPOB leader is still hopeful about gaining his freedom in the coming weeks.

Kanu, however, did not hold back his criticism over the Igbo political leaders’ silence, emphasizing that their inaction on his release and the larger Igbo cause had worsened the marginalization.

Ezenekwe cited another pro-Biafra activist who was imprisoned in the past. He said “His sentiments evoked memories of past hardships endured by fellow freedom fighters, such as the neglect experienced by Ralph Uwazurike,

He emphasized that Nnamdi Kanu’s ongoing detention is a representation of political repression rather than justice.
