The presidency in a statement berated the coalition opposition parties as it downplayed the alliance of opposition figures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Policy Communications, made this statement on Wednesday during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television.

Bwala said there is no alliance in Nigeria and that the efforts are exaggerated.
“This coalition issue you are hearing is overblown; there is no coalition anywhere.
“Those who left the PDP, who are the proponents of this coalition, are just a handful of people who left. The governors of the PDP have not followed them, and the National Working Committee, national executives have not followed them.

“Where is the coalition? There are even tossing to get someone to come and run on the platform of the PDP,” he added.
Recall that the alliance aiming to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) includes opposition leaders Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president and 2023 presidential candidate of the PDP, Peter Obi, the leader of the Labour Party; and Nasir El-Rufai, a former governor of Kaduna State.
In recent developments, Rauf Aregbesola, a former Tinubu ally and governor of Osun State, was appointed as secretary, former Minister of Youth and Sports Bolaji Abdullahi was appointed as spokesperson, and former Senate President David Mark was named national chairman to guide this new phase.
