Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Advisor(NSA), has stated that the Federal Government and the nation’s security forces have significantly destroyed the complex security issues that the President Bola Tinubu government inherited.
Mass murders, wanton damage, mass kidnappings, and terrorist attacks on government buildings have all been stopped, according to the NSA, thanks to a concerted security effort.

During yesterday’s APC National Summit, which commemorated the two-year anniversary of the Tinubu administration, the NSA stated that the administration inherited five interconnected issues throughout the nation.
“For us to appreciate where we are today, it’s important to reflect on where we were before the coming of this administration on May 29, 2023,” Ribadu said.
He recalled how terrorists enjoyed their heyday until 2022, when attacks on the Abuja-Kadun train, Kuje Prison, a church in Owo, and an army regiment in Bwari, Abuja, occurred in Nigeria.
According to him Boko Haram in the Northeast, armed banditry in the Northwest, IPoB/ESN secessionist agitations in the Northeast, Niger Delta instability, and communal/herder-farmer conflicts, particularly in the North Central, were among the inherited security concerns.
Ribadu stated that prior to 2023, the Boko Haram and banditry crises claimed over 35,000 and 12,000 lives, respectively, and left millions of people homeless in the impacted areas.
The NSA said that issues like the sit-at-homes in the South-East and the sabotage of oil installations in the Niger Delta had been significantly resolved since the security services were cooperating.
Over 11,000 weapons were found and destroyed from the terrorists in the last two years, according to Ribadu, while over 13,543 Boko Haram members were eliminated.
According to the NSA, efforts are underway to smoke out the militants in the Tumbuktu Triangle, Tumbu Islands, and other enclaves, notwithstanding some setbacks.
