Obedient movement claims APC has no chance at victory in credible elections
The Delta State Obedient Movement has stated that the All Progressives Congress cannot prevail in a free and fair election anywhere in the nation.
Speaking during a news conference in the state capital of Asaba, Chief Chris Boise, the chairman of the Delta Obedients Elders Council, stated that the movement was not at all concerned with the state’s Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) merging into the APC.
The defectors’ claimed that joining the APC was a move to promote state development, he claimed, was refuted by the party’s poor national performance during the previous ten years.

He said: “It is pertinent to remind Nigerians that at the presidential election held on February 25, 2023, Deltas gave our principal, Mr. Peter Obi as Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, a decisive victory of 341, 866 votes to 161, 600 for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and 90, 183 for the presidential candidate of the APC, Bola Tinubu.”
He claimed that the country was descending into a predatory autocracy, when power is maintained and managed by a small elite rather than by widespread public support or economic performance, adding that APC leadership is characterised “by descent into economic chaos and insecurity.”
“ since APC took over governance at the federal level in May 2015, a new strain of insecurity spearheaded by armed Fulani herders overtook the entire country” he added.
The obedient movement leader urged Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to act right now to provide local vigilantes the authority to defend villages against armed intruders who are destroying crops and murdering residents.
