PDP has an incurable virus- Babachir Lawal reveals

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation Babachir Lawal has disclosed that the PDP is viewed as a no-go area by the politicians who are advocating for a powerful opposition coalition.

The coalition’s technical committee, he said, is considering whether the alliance should adopt and improve an existing party or register a new one.

Babachir made this statement on Wednesday during his appearance on “The Morning Show” on Arise Television.

According to the former SGF, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is an active and dedicated member of the coalition supporting the effort to unseat President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

“In all the meetings I’ve attended so far, nobody has ever bothered about adopting the PDP as the platform. We all agree that PDP has an incurable virus. No anti-biotics can cure what is ailing the PDP and we don’t want to go into a house that we cannot modify that is not willing to change,” he said.

Babachir revealed that the coalition opposition’s politicians would soon unveil their new platform to allay Nigerians’ fears about the coalition’s political party.

Since the PDP is regarded as a non considerable area, Babachir’s disclosure suggested that Atiku might leave the party at any time.
