The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said Monday that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed Nigerians and will be thrown out in 2027, calling President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration a “bad market.”

This claim was made by the party during a discussion with reporters in Abuja, which was led by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, its national publicity secretary.

Ologunagba stated that in order to give Nigerians a viable choice before the general elections in 2027, the PDP was adjusting its internal structures.

He maintained that Nigerians were now experiencing economic hardship, insecurity, and despair as a result of the APC-led administration, and that the PDP was the only party with the national structure and legacy to save the nation.

“This is a government that tells people to fast while they are feasting. No patriotic or humane Nigerian, no political group or party that truly feels the pain of the people, will support President Tinubu in 2027. His presidency is a bad market,” Ologunagba said.

He charged that the APC had lost touch with the people, fuelled opposition party conflicts, and mismanaged the economy to the point that public services and infrastructure were collapsing.

“I was at the airport yesterday, on a Sunday evening, from Lagos to Abuja. The airport was empty. I told a friend, this is a reflection of the economy. The plane was half full, yet fares have increased. This is the reality under Tinubu,” he said.

Citing recent murders in Plateau and the alleged attack on a PDP candidate from Anambra status in Abuja, Ologunagba further denounced the status of national security, claiming that it was a proof that insecurity had become “the new normal.”

He clarified that the PDP’s strength lay in its nationwide base of devoted supporters rather than in its elected officials

“Our strength is in the people. Despite elite defections, our grassroots membership remains intact. People are not defecting because of the hunger and insecurity they face. They are standing by the PDP because we connect with their reality,” he noted.
